Em sua homenagem, postamos a versão traduzida para o português e o texto original de sua famosa e controvertida poesia “Somebody Blew Up America”. O vídeo com o próprio Amiri recitando sua poesia foi gravado por ocasião do evento Attica is All of Us, na Riverside Church, no Harlem, Nova York, em 9 setembro de 2011. O evento comemorava o 40º aniversário da rebelião na prisão de Attica.
